REEE Green Films in the East of England

Boiler Station is proud to support the launch of the REE Green Film East Business Support scheme. This cluster initiative is a joint venture between Boiler Station's sister company Green Film Practices, Exemplas (University of Hertfordshire), and Resource Efficiency East. The project will provide enviromental advice to film, video, commerical and television companies in the East of England.

The project is supported by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) and in part by the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union.

CLOUDBUSTING - ADVANCING WOMEN IN THE MEDIA

Boiler Station is launching a new strand of sessions tailored for women to advance their careers in the media industries.

In the wake of the 2008 recession, Skillset figures reveals that out of the 5000 media jobs axed, more than 4000 were held by women.

Cloudbusting is devised to provide hands-on tools, strategies and skills to women that will enable women to enter the board rooms and executive chairs.

For years, Managing Director Ann Kristin Glenster has been campaigning for opportunities and change in the working conditions for women in the media industries. She has been invited to partake in debates at the European Parliament in Brussels, and participated in the panel for legislative change at the CIMA Conference in Santiago de Compostella, Spain in 2010.

Ann Kristin serves on the Board of Directors of Women in Film and Television UK (WFTV), the International WIFTI Board, and is a member of the Fawcett Society and Progressive Women.
