About Us

Boiler Station is a strategic consultancy that provides innovative solutions for a brand new media world.

We work with local governments on devising and implementing large-scale strategic projects; with medium and small-size companies on single projects and broader business development; and individuals focusing their careers, skills and ambitions.

Since its conception in 2008, Boiler Station has had clients in the UK, Norway, Greece and USA. Our clients include Østfold fylkeskommune, Biggerhouse Film and Video, 4 Reel Film, Level Film, Freedom From Fear, Laconic Film, Kate Film, Somerset Film and the FilmWorks Trust.

We also provide think-tank pieces for policy-makers in the audiovisual sector, examining in particular the role of intellectual property rights, sustainability and global trends.

Boiler Station has had a central role in the design and execution of three regional business cluster schemes; in Somerset (East of England), Østfold (East of Norway), and the East of England.

Managing Director Ann Kristin Glenster has authored courses on leadership and management in the audiovisual sector for FDMX (University of Hertfordshire), and provided lectures and advice to Broadcast Video Expo, Gjøvik Musikklynge, Nora Nettverk (London), the Parliamentary Culture Committee (Norway), and Innovation Norway.

Boiler Station was founded by Ann Kristin Glenster as a vehicle to stimulate innovation, ideas and the spread of business acumen.

Ann Kristin serves on the Board of Directors of Women in Film and Television UK (WFTV), is a voting member of the British Film and Television Academy (BAFTA), and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufacturing and Commerce (RSA).

Ann Kristin holds an MFA degree from Columbia University in New York, a Master in European Audiovisual Management (MEGA) from the Media Business School in Spain. She is currently pursuing an LLM Qualifying Law Degree at Birkbeck, London University.

Ann Kristin's career has taken her from Manhattan to Spain, Norway, France and the UK. She has headed a regional filmfund above the Arctic Circle, been awarded a Screenwriting Award by the European Broadcasting Union, directed theatre, and lectured at the New York Film Academy in London. Over the last decade she has gained considerable experience in international co-production finance and advised numerous productions.

In addition to Ann Kristin, Boiler Station draws on the expertise of top-notch specialists, and has previously engaged Annika Meyer (Marketing), Emily Cocoran (Sales, Marketing, Pitching), and Funke Oyebanjo (Pitching, Script Development).
